The Beginning (Gotta Start Somewhere)

Hello! Glad you have found your way here. Just a note, this is where you will be able to hear some thoughts regarding music, teaching, and worship leading. It is my intention to partner with you on your musical journey as I share mine. 

Every journey needs a beginning. For me, it started when I was four. My mother taught piano, so method books were always lying around. I would pick one up and follow the lessons. Propping the book up against the stand of our acoustic upright piano, I would sit for hours with the ivory keys at my fingertips. The sound it produced was usually out of tune, but at that age I was blissfully unaware. 

It was spending so much time at that piano that I developed a love for music. I had no idea at the time how far I would come in my knowledge and use of the art --much less that I would get to share it. 

Teaching is such a passion of mine. Some students I have had for years now and it is just the best to see how they have grown over time. It has proven to me that you do not have to possess natural-born talent to be good at or enjoy music. I have been so impressed by the students who have chosen to dedicate themselves to the art; it is that attitude that truly produces long-term success.

No matter where you are at with music, or if you are my student or not, I look forward to taking this journey with you!
